BUSY Monday
Spent the morning doing paperwork. Sorted out the filing box, completed my tax return (although Mum could not believe I was even asked to do one !!) and budget/account paperwork for the Embroiderers Guild.
Then the afternoon curled up on the sofa with my embroidery ! Finished one square for my nieces' quilt and 80% done on the second.

Nice Weekend
Saturday -
Popped the UKSTITCHERS RR in the post to A. Hopefully should reach her Wednesday ... Then joined DH for a trip into Petersfeild. Spent time picking up a few bits for gifts.
Sunday -
It was a motoGP/Motor racing/Rally day.
While DH was watching these (I did stop to watch the rally too) got on with making up a couple of stitched gifts to take away on holiday, working on my C&G course sketch books, getting the washing up to date and sorting out the next stitching projects.
Called our friends in US to chat about approaching holiday !
Now just relaxing for the rest of the day.
BEST BIT , get to do more tomorrow .... I love bank holidays !

Successful afternoon off with DH !
We had a quiet lunch , although his work mates had at first said they would join us they did not show.
Hit Debenhams first and found they had their cases on sale. Did not take long before we walked out with a new case (black on wheels) and a new top for DH. I was amused to find the one he choosed had Maine New England written on it as a logo =)
I wanted to pop into Evans to pick up a cardigan or a light weekend jacket. Ended up with a new shirt, top , jazzy celtic belt and a swede jacket ... ermmmm.... all selected by DH. He did not like my more arty filly floaty selection. =) Evans autumn range is all 60's and 70's look .... some of the items made me think of photos I seen of my big sisters !!!!
Next working out the best combination of currency .... ! Confused the poor lady in the Post Office who took a while to catch on to why we wanted both US$ and C$ ..
Then home .
Only to find the postman had been and delivered our plane tickets !
=( BAD NEWS ... measured our current case and we think it might be too large .. the airline have a spec for case size... We are going to have a second run but we may have to go back and buy another case.... at least they are on sale !

=) Last day in the office before the LONG weekend... plus tomorrow is only a half day too !! Looking forward to three days at home. Hope to spend some of it getting my sketch books for module 2 on my C&G course finished. REALLY REALLY would like to have this all done and in the post to them b4 we go away.
DH & I have started to sort out the final details for the holiday... Like how much cash we'll need and in which currency ! He has come to the conculsion that laptop buying should wait until we get back. We have come up with a list of things we need to do over the next 20 days !!!
The holiday has started to fill out with gatherings with BB friends ... Toronto meeting M & D , Rochester staying with C & K plus hopefully will find a time to meet with S and Ontawa visiting LNS with D & P followed by a meal out =)
Need to start collecting a number of items which we'll be taking over with us !
Finish a replacement square for an exchange ... the lady this is going to di dnot recieve a square in a four piece exchange, so that she is not out I have made her a spring one. ;) although will add it wasn't me who should have been sending in the first place.... Terribly her summer square has also not arrived !!!! I even dug out her sign up e-mail to check the address .
Nearly finished L's UKStitchRR piece. The threads arrived on tuesday (thank god SewandSo are quick) and just have the backstitch to do. Fingers crossed I will have it in the post on Friday if not Saturday :)
Then can start to think about the familly RR ... Signed up for two pieces for the quilt!
Hoping that the new TW and all the threads arrived soon , as I hoped that it would become oneof my holiday projects.

Only 22 days left before our holiday =)
DH & I have arranged to have friday afternoon off work to go looking for suitcases. Our old ones are not up to the job !! Nice start to a LONG weekend
DH keeps talking about picking up a laptop (old one) to take with us which we can use to download the camera/s or play games on . Also it would then become the controler for his layout too!! It would be hand luggage. Does by handbag count as a second piece of hand luggage ????

Quiet weekend. DH & I were not feeling 100%.
Saturday - headed to Alton to pick up a couple of things. DH wanted some more track for his German layout and I wanted some mount card for my C&G work. Although we had lunch there, we were soon home. Spent rest of the day curled up on sofa - stitching in a RR - for the UK stitchers group.
Sunday - Sat on the sofa painting parts to create a building for DH's layout .... I said I would help him get the scenery done. I also put one building together !!!
At 12 DH appeared and took over the TV while the racing was on ... F1 ...
Cut up an old pair of DH's baggy cotton trousers and made a pattern for a new pair. Cut out the fabric for making up next weekend. I have fabric for a second pair too !
Then I went back to the sofa with the stitching. Checking the chart I do not have ALL the threads. Missing the glittery ones, so just been checking out the web to see what colour they shoudl be - I have the silver and gold in another brand but the third colour appears to be a dark green .... oh well off to SewandSo !
Good stuff:
:) Arranged to meet up with TWBBer's in Ottawa.
:) Also could be meeting up with more TWBBer's in Rochester. Details being arranged.
Monday - its RAINING :(
But at least have a LONG weekend to look forward to.

GREAT WEEKEND
The weekend turned out really great. I entered the Village Show ~ Handcraft section for the first time. Was so suprised to win three classes and recieved a Highly Commended in a fourth !
Winning classes
Cross Stitch - Stretch from TW
Needlepoint - A piece canvas work piece based on blues and gold
Patchwork - A crazy patchwork cushion ... Gone a little mad on this and embroidered over the fabric.
By coming first in three of the five classes I also won the Handcraft Cup , although this turned out to be a tankard which amused the chairman of the counci who was handing out the prizes.
The tankard will be with me soon after my name has been engraved ;)
On Sunday spent time helping DH with his German railroad layout all based round a fictious area of the Mosel Valley. We both enjoy our visits to Germany so spent time talking about how it should look, the elements which it needs to give the right feel.
We also went for a stash buying session at DH's favourite european train store ... It was a short drive down to the coast !!!
It is currently standing in our kichen while DH starts laying the cork and track. He would like to get this to exhibition standard. I have agreed to spend weekends going round exhibiting it with him :)

I did not do too well at trying to keep this up to date. FIVE MONTHS !!! eeekkk !
I bet you thought I was not coming back.
So where have I been ???
Work has been manic....
I had signed up for a number of RRs and exchanges - only to find they all were happening at the same time !!! I guess as the organisor for the Aion exchanges I need to check out the dates better. But there is was - I was trying to get LOTS of stitching done.
:( I did miss a few dead lines ... which I hope my exchange partners have coped with.
It is only 4.5 weeks until our holiday .... watch out Canda...
But I have a number of items I had hoped to stitch/make/create before we go...
Good news is that Mum is fighting fit and her biggest worry right now is how we will celebrate Dad's 80th birthday next year !
:) GREAT NEWS, my Niece Karen annouced she would be having her first baby in Feb !! Its is due the day after DH's birthday ! Now there would be one date I would not forget... Been looking out for a birthday sampler. Digging out the bootie pattern AND trying to rope the rest of the familly into helping with a SURPRISE ;)
