Roses Are Red
(Added a Sunday Update)

A dozen roses arrived here on the 14th Feb. They look lovely standing in the kichen window.

It has been a busy week. I finished the halloween scissor fob off which I had start last weekend as a train project. As you can see I am stitching it together by hand. This allows me to create a beaded edging =)

Part Two of the "How Does your Garden Grow" mystery came out last weekend. So I have already stitched my piece. Part 2 added a small area on the sides which did not take very long.
Its a nice weekend so planning to get the bathroom rug washed out and on the line. Then catch up with ...oh ... perhaps some stitching ....LOL !

Had a nice surprised this week. This crossed stitched card arrived from my Aunt June. Now I know June is just starting with cross stitch and I was thrilled to recieve this. =)

Sunday Update

This weekend I got round to finishing off the TW Autumn Sampler. My friend C stitched the over one panel for me ages ago so I thought I should finish it off. TW has said that the next one will be coming out soon too =)

Also this week my Beltain mask has arrived. I saw the work of this Artist on Etsy and loved all the masks he had on show. Selected this one as I thought it would be great for dressing up for the Burning Man/Beltain eveing at Butser Achient Farm. Although this is called "autumnal maple mask"...
The Artist is Donovan Soland...Click this link to see more of his work on Etsy http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5495766 Makes me wish I had long hair again as some of the hair slides are stunning !!

So I thought I would end with another photo of the roses =)

Opps ! Another two week catch up

Last weekend DH and I were away visiting his parents. This meant I spent a lot of time stitching on St Basil's , seeing friends and catching up. The weather was cold and we even had snow ,just it did not last long. Stopped off to see DH's best mate, wife and little girl. She is lovely and running round. Just as we were about to leave she wanted to give DH a hug and then did not want to let him leave... Arrhhh !!! She is a little sweetie and now as they are living so close to the parents-in-law we'll be dropping by more often.

Yesterday joined my older sisters in London for a shopping day. But we started at the Prism 2008 exhibition. I was not sure my sisters would enjoy that bit of the day but it was going to be my only chance to see it due to work.
I am glad to say they really enjoyed themselves. Both felt so inspired and my oldest sister who never thought she could even consider textiles wants to start adding fabric and buttons to her paper craft work =) YEY !!!

Bought a copy of the catalog which this year was on CD. Great for me. Though I had heard that you could get a camera pass to take pictures I did not take the camera (trying to reduce the weight of bag for later shopping trip) but I guess I should have done now. I did a few sketches and made a few notes. Spent a lot of time explaining some of the techniques used to my oldest sister who was amazed at the work .... I could have gone home then having had a great morning =)

Instead we first headed for the Crypt for lunch and a good gossip before walking into Covent Garden for a little retail theropy !! Good fun in the afternoon and even found time to fit in a glass or two of wine and a rest from walking.

The day ended with a surprised. While on the tube heading for the station the carriage was getting busy. A lady stepped on and ended up in the middle of the crowd with nothing to grab to support herself. I did not think when the tube rocked and juddered I grabbed her arm to steady her. She looked really familliar. We got chatting ... She is Elizabeth Richards an actress who specializes as playing the Queen. Have a look at some of the photos of her at her web site below. Yes I know I should have asked to take a photo with her (one young tourest did) !!
