Class Project ~ In Progress

Moving along with filling the configuration box ... Found the space ship while hunting out stitching items but really not sure about leaving it in there. Not glued down so time to still think. Quite happy with the centre. The second cotton reel works.

Tim Holtz in the UK !

Just back from the Artsey Crafty event ! This was a two part event. You had a class with Tim and a class with Lin and Leandra. I was on the second session with Tim....So the day started with the ladies. Drove up with my friend with a little detour to Olney to visit LB Crafts... We met up with more friends on Wednesday evening and had a good laugh about "pokey tools".

This is the project we were making. Lots of chances to use their new metal paper and chalk paint. I did manage to finish mine in the time.

After a buffet lunch it was time to head into Tim's class.

We had a fantastic class. As part of the class kit we all recieved one of the limited edition vadabond stickers.

This is Tim's original for the class project. We started with configaration box which we were talked though how to cover in paper, seal the edges with tissue tape then distress the outside.

After a break for tea, we arrived back to our desks to find that small bags of goodness had arrived. LOTS of vintage goodies to build into the boxes.

...Yes, there was time to talk, ask for my journal to be signed and take a picture of two.

At the end of the class was a few door prizes from Tim ! I was not lucky enough to win one but my friend did.

HELLO 2011 !!

Wow ... already Feburary and where have I been ?? Well busy. Work has been and continues to be MANIC !!! Weekends tend to not have time to grab the home laptop to make an update.

But have been working on art projects and quite a bit of crochet. Why Crochet ?? Well apart from making great gifts for friends and my niece I was also asked to run a crochet lesson for the Liss in Stitches group. So wanted to pratiise.

The class went well and you will not belive the laughter we had. How much fun it is to teach hardcore knitters to hold their wool differently and work from the front and not the back !!

In my art room:
Made hubby a valentine card, well really a book. This was based on Tim Holtz on-line lesson.

Well NEXT WEEK is will be when I failly get my birthday pressy. I have a ticket to a Tim Holtz class with Artsy Crafts. Driving up with Steff to Newport Pagnell !!

There is a group collection of Inches to make into a book for Tim. So this is mine. Zentangles with crackle glaze over the top. Not a great photo... will try to grab a better one before I hand it in ! So to be prepared I have been making LOTS of fabric ATCs to trade with the everyone. Not sure if this is the right thing to do, seems from reading the message board that some are sharing inches, some tags ,,,, ATCs are what I do ...

So i ended up with a couple which were not working for me, so started to turn them into a mix media piece ... as first I thought about adding this to my apron for the class but it kept growing. So it is now a cover for a note book. Planning to take this with me. Add notes from the events, collect items inside and finally add all my photos in there too ...

The textile art was started on fabric, but I then transfered it to Grunge paper which I had inked purple. Next added papers and tissue, stitched over the top of that then started to draw too !! Finally added to the note book cover and used to TH corners to help hold it all together. The back is covered in tissue I had dyed...

This week recieved a great fabric postcard from my friend Inge. This was an exchange from the All Things Tim - Euro yahoo group. This is Inge's first fabric card and has travelled from Belgium... not really damaged considering.
