Creative Weekend

Finished off my first 2010 stitched project. This is Winter Castle by Teresa Wentzler. It stitched up fairly quickly. There a companion castle called Summer Castle which i will be doing soon.

The european art group from ATT are starting a new book round robin for 2010. This is a sneek peek at the cover I have been working on. Sorry that is it as we have not agreed if we are sharing images until the end.

Also tried out creating an ATC using the big shot. Started with the owl. It come from an embossing plate. I then rubbed gold markel stick across the surface. Then used a clear sisslet to cut out the tag. The lettering is cut out too . Last week my Sizzix sales order arrived with most of what I had ordered. So more things to play with.

Weekend Art

Spent some time decorating a tin . . Using grunge paper as the base. This allowed me to sew lace and add other items on. I used some printed card board and cut out two spirls with the Big Shot. . Twisting them together worked well.

Festive Update

Been playing some more with the Big Shot. Mostly to see what it can do. Below are examples of grunge paper (left) and grunge board. Both cut really well but the texture only arrives on one side. I have also cut a few fabric pieces. The cut was not as clean as i would have liked. I did use some paper as a second layer on one try but the paper cut well the fabric did not. I had used calico so I now wonder if it would be better with cotton.

This is my current house project but only coz its too large to travel with. Its an abstract design from a Canadian designer Northern Designs. Been waiting to stitch this for ages.

This is my 2010 diary. No not a jounal. The photo below shows how it looked when I bought it. Although in the right alter look I wanted to do a little more. So after some paint, alcohol ink , velvet rub downs and stamps this is the end result. The business like man you can see is on the first page inside. I liked the effect which the semi clear cover give. I used a few stamps to decorate the inner leaves. Did not go for too much that is 3d as this is a working book.
