Happy Dances and Holidays

This is part 1 and 2 of Papillon Creations ~ Serendipity. Link to designers site.

While we were away I finished "The Quaker Gameboard" also by Papillon Creations. Each of the areas between the octagons have one of eight different fillers. The picture below is the lower left handside which you may be able to see clearer the fillers.

Last week was spent in Cornwall. Staying near Padstow in a farm cottage complex. All the barns had been converted. From the farm you could walk into Padstow via Public Rights of Way. Being that close to Padstow we had lunch at Stien's Cafe. Web site.

The first weekend the weather was glorious but as Monday arrived so did the dizzle/rain. We joined the National Trust and spent the rest of the week visiting houses and gardens... AND walked miles.

Started my next City and Guilds module too. The subjects are the Portrait and Cubism. Ermm I now need to draw a portrait .... Eeeeek !! I mean I can draw an image which looks like a human head but it does not really look like the person I am drawing !?!?!? Although as we will be creating a Cubist version that might help !!!

June is Bursting out all over !!

Phew ... what a Saturday. Spent most of the day under an umbrella in the garden =)

As well as enjoying the sun I was busy stitching the crab apples to the left. These are a test piece for a class at the next UKTWBB GTG. I was asked if I would do another stumpwork class.. So I thought "yey why not" ... but wanted to do something different from the dragonfly from last time.

I managed to complete it in one day but I am not sure that will happen on the day. Although the pink flower, one leaf and the crab apple should be done on the day, the white flower and other leaf are the same process !

Sad news is that the fish eggs did not make it but the parents are looking for another spot.

Friday DH & I had the day off. In the morning popped into Petersfield. First to give a statement to the police in regard to the credit card fraud as Nottinghamshire Police wish to make an arrest =) ... also to look in the library for books on Cubism. This is the next subject for my C&G course. Eeekk !!!

BUT 3pm we were off to Southampton to see BON JOVI ... What a great night. Nickleback were supporting and a local band kicked the eveing off around 5pm. The place was PACKED... the paper said 35,000 sold out. We were way back in the seats. Those on the pitch had the added extra of the stage walkway which came out into the crowd. Cool !!! No cameras allowed =( so no pictures to share ...

Now we are starting to think about packing for next Friday and our week away =)

Summer has arrived !

Wow ... it has been a lovely weekend in the UK. The sun has finally arrived.

DH and I spent the weekend doing a little gardening and relaxing .. =) Everything in the green house is going mad, sewn more lettuce seed and potatoes over the weekend.

The two Blue Accara in the down stairs fish tank have laid eggs for the third time. We are stillnot sure if they are both female or if one is male !?!? So far the first two batches of eggs have ended up being eaten either by the mother or one of the other fish in the tank !!! Both fish look after the eggs once they are laid ... so we are just waiting to see if these eggs get to hatch. DH bought some baby food just in case =)

With time to relax in the garden started working on piece of canvas and freeform knitting.. See above. This was my response to a competition. You are sent a thread collection and have to create an embroidery which mostly uses the threads. Although I had until November I was really inspired once I placed the face charm with the threads. The photo makes it look very flat ... =(
