Do You Feel Artistic !

I have started to carry round a small note book in my handbag and am trying to journal each day in art. Well its a mix-media with hand written notes. Some days is hand drawn doodles while others I get the paint etc out in the studio.
On Saturday I some how managed to do some thing to my neck and it feels like a trapped nerve.OOOaahhh !! Means I have been limited to what I can do,what I want to do and my general attention span. This mostly means NO SEWING !! Its just the wrong angle to be holding my head. DH says he knows I am ill as not picked up a needle.

So spent a little time decorating the cover of my book with the new alphabet stamps which arrived this week. The vertical lines were already there.

Below are a few of the pages so far.

As you can see this is today's page. I know its better as I have been sitting here typing. Did not get much sleep last night -about 2 hrs .... then after a search on the net to discover the suggestion of warming the spot ,this loosened it up enough so I could get another couple of hours.....=( So not done much today ... feeling really lazy.

Over the last two days I have created a piece of art on an artist canvas block. This worked with a bad neck as you could only do a very little before it had to be put to one side to dry. There are a number of techniques used here. The letters are all grunge board, the back ground is a mixture of distress ink, tissue papers and stamps plus I have added a couple ofembellishments.

This is a close up of the lower corner so you can see the phase used.
The weekend has turned HOT !!! Even though the forcaste was for rain rain rain =) I am not complaining, but Pip has been.

FAR too hot for a long haired black cat ! ! !

I have started some more PipArt ,but those are on hold until I can face sitting in front of a sewing machine again !

Update on the Garden

Everything is growing like mad so I thought I would do a little update with pictures.
Above our my two cucumber plants. Not sure how clear it is in the picture but they have grown up the back of the greenhouse and have started to grow along the central ridge. There are three ready to be picked, but the other week we took eight off which we have pickled. First time we have done that. It will be a few more days before we we open the jars to see how it has gone !

Mean while we have a huge crop of tomatoes but they are all green still !! Below are the plum tomatoes. There are quite a few the size you see below.
We also have tiger stripped growing...
A bush tomatoe stands on the side.
Also on the side I have a number of egg-plants growing. The spots of purple among the leaves are the flowers. The plants have gone quite large this year and many have multiple flowers.
There are also pepper plants. The photo is not so good but there are flowers on the plants !!

In the corner is a small peach tree. It was a wedding gift. This year we have fruit. Looking forward to eating them. Hope we get thm before the wild life do !
Talking about wild life. While I was taking pictures in the green house this little fellow came to see me.

PIP~ART !

What is she on about ??? Well that is what your thinking isn't it. Has another two week gap then titles the next post as PipArt.

First to address the gap .... Last weekend spent Saturday in London shopping with the girls, Z, C & M... Although being us this meant spending the afternoon in the pub. Oooppss. Yes we did get some shopping done. I bought just the right charms to complete my Tea Party piece of work. Sunday was busy as DH had had 'man-flu' since Friday so was recovering on the sofa. Hence no posts...

This week was so busy at work until Friday when I appeared to have picked up the same cold. Yukky. =( I worked at home for the day. Which was great. Had lots of docs to read anyway.

But being at home meant that I watched the first few episodes of the second season of Quilting Arts TV while eating lunch. The DVD arrived during the week. Pokey showed a technique based on pop-art to make art quilts of your pets. Not being 100% well this seemed fun. So once 5pm hit, I made a start. As I was making the quilts about our cat Pippi, its called PipArt.

The method Pokey showed was to cut an image of your pet from a photo and play with it in a photo package. Mostly I have changed the red green & blue colour balance on mine. Next you add it to a fabric back ground. I then added LOTs of embellishments. On the first above I have also written about Pip. Sorry the photo too small for you to read this.

The second I loved that she looked like she was looking at something so I added the bee and made a story out of it. Finally I made a tag to go with them. The flying cat is on both quilts so made this Pip logo. The stamper comes from ArtGirls range.

Meanwhile DH says that the PipArt is OK. Not some of my best and not my normal standard.....
