Weekend Away !
DH and I went to NEC to the National Rail Exhibition. We stayed over at a lovely B&B - Barnacle Hall. It is a sheep farm too , these guys were out side the window of our room. The building is 16th century and lovely inside. The front has to be seen and you need a bit of strength to open it !!
Plus we realised we have been to the area before. Went out for a meal on Saturday evening to the Rose and Castle at Ansty. It was very familliar... checked the map. The Oxford canal runs along the bottom of the property and we must have stopped there on our honeymoon !! =)
The show at the NEC was large and we spent all day there. DH made a purchase or three....LOL . We met a few people DH knew and chatting to some of the owners of the displays.
There were a number of German layouts there and a great one of Rowlands Castle.
Home to find a package from the states.... A set of keyholes from TimHoltz range AND . . . . .
A set of the NEW masks from Tim and his NEW winter stampers from Stampers Anonymous . . . .

I have already started to try them out on make more Altered Art Ornaments !

Altered Art Ornaments

Been busy with a learning a new method of working. Altering tree ornaments. A lady from the All Things T!m group posted images of her versions which are stunning. She had used Tim Holtz yule stamps. Not having any of those I have been working with what is in my stash.

The base ornament is covered in tissue paper ,some stamped but layered with gel medium. Then grunge board elements added and ribbon to decorate.
Here is one I am still working on ... Only the first layer has been added. With this one I have tried adding snips of ribbon with the layers of tissue.

Also had a chance this week to do some stitching for ME rather than gifts for friends and family!

This is a chart which I picked up at Ally Pally Needle craft show. Its called Mini Mother and Child. The artist is from Canada. It just needs framing.

QUEEN & PAUL R

ROCK WEMBLEY

Last night DH and I headed off to Wembley to see Queen and Paul Rogers. We had booked to eat in the Wembley restaurant. Glad we did it was fully booked by the time we arrived. But as ever it was a great way to start the evening. Bonus always being able to have a drink from a 'glass'...

Our seats were on the floor but on racked area. We were not sure what to expect .....

WOW !!! An amazing show....

The seats in front of us kept sitting down when the track being played was not classic Queen. The band played tracks off the new albumn , then from Free and Bad Company !! The Bad Company track - Feel Like Making Love - was great. The screen behind was showing images from BC days. We were only just born then.. while others round us who would have been much were there at the time just sat looking quite bord !

James even bought himself a tour t-shirt on the way out and has placed Queen & PR on the the list of bands to just buy tickets when I see them.
