Birds and Hangers

This morning there was a bang but at first we could not work out where the noise came from. Walking into the bedroom there was a pigeon print on the glass !!
Been busy in the art studio this weekend. First made a whole series of items from Grundge Paper for an exchange ! Great fun running the paper under the sewing machine.

Made a heart hanger. The heart is paper mache which I have painted in purples. Used some Perfect Paper to create texture on one side and Laura Ashley velvet rub on of leaves.
The hanger is a double wire holding a series of beads which I change the colour on using Alcole Ink, then tied to a T!M Holtz word key which says LOVE (not clear in the photo) , finally both wires end with a purple butterfly button on one side and a frame with DH & I in it !! Love this. Good fun making too :)
The garden is growing well. The onion sets are now coming up and one of the potatoes has put its head out of the ground. The green house seeds are still thinking about it !

Grunge Board and Grunge Paper

Used more grunge paper to make a small gift for my friend S.... Love that with the paper I can bring more stitching into the work.

Saturday, S and I went out shopping. First to Ikea then to Hobby Craft. We did not go toooo mad, but had a good look round. I had looked in Ikea for boxes or storage for my grunge board and other paper art items to replace the cardboard box I had been using. Did not find anything suitable. I did find a great box in HobbyCraft :)

They stock the Really Useful Box Company range. Picked a perfect box ... so now I know I need two or three more to finish putting everything away ! They stack on each other and the lids are clipped down so everything is held in ! I guess DH & I will have to have a trip to Hobby Craft some time soon !

Been working today on the next round robin art book. This one is titled Black, White, Red .....

But as you can see I have used some news paper and added the joke "What is black, white and red all over ?" ... I have left the word as red, rather than read !

The white detail on the right of the page above is a transfer. I found these on-line and have been holding on to them for just the right project ! What is not clear in the picture is that as you turn the book, the background round the Bat glisens !! I really enjoyed thinking myself round this project.
Today been VERY busy in the garden. Cleared out the green house. Started seed trays for runner beans, sweet peas, basil, two types of peppers and rocket too !
DH & I went to the garden centre so also picked upsome new vegable bags to grow in, a few flowering plants to fill up the pots and a new hose pipe.
Before I can back in, I had put BeetRoot seeds into one of the vegables bags and done the first row of salad in the outside box!
