YAY .... Tropical Dreams all finished =)

Put the final beading on this yesterday. Now to start looking at the UK Stitchers RR.

Friday, 28 October 2005

TW Triopical Dream is almost finished. I have the lower border to stitch then need to add all the beads ALL OVER ....
Add a picture taken this morning !

Also a good 60% done of the model. Getting worried that the one of the threads will run out before I am finished.
Sorry no photos.

The UKSTITCHERS RR has only just arrived and this weekend I should really be sending it off. As it belongs to C , I thought I could remove the piece of fabric I need to stitch on and send the rest on... That way when we get together on the 12th Nov I can hand her my stitch piece and it keeps the chain going !!

I have sorted out which ornaments I need to stitch for Yuletide this year. So once TW-TD , the model and RR done, I can get on with them !

Now a bit of a moan...

We had planned to buy a new kitchen and have been trying to sort out finance. I have spent two weeks (and still counting) trying to get Barclays to book a face to face appointment to consider a top up mortgage for home improvement..... Why so long??

You cannot phone the branches direct any more. So I called the only phone number that they publish on day one and ask the lady if I can book an appointment, but she says that she can only send the branch a fax (?) to instruct them to phone me. By the end of day two I had not heard, so called the central number again. Another lady says she will send them another fax...Day 3 I have found the number for the premier accounts which I call. The ladies there get me to agree to talk over the phone for initial details... But after the four version I am LOST ! Plus DH will want to go over all this !! Day 4 call the premier number again and ask if they can arrange a face to face. They tried the group who I need to speak to but its too late in the evening and they are not thee. She sends them an e-mail to ask them to phone me... This she says will either be day 5 (Friday) or Day 8 ... By the end of Day 8 nothing. Then Day 9 a lady phones me .. Only to announced that she can only talk to me about mortgages and that she will have to pass my number on to ANOTHER GROUP to get someone to call me to book a face to face appointment !!!! So now we are on day 12 and I HAVE NO APPOINTMENT !!!!!!!

Although since all this has happen, DH has found out that the council moving teams around again - this normally means someone will end up loosing their job, so we have had to put the kitchen on hold. I am going to wait to see how long it takes for Barclays to call me back !?!?!

Hippy Sheep ....

Just done one fo the those on-line surveys and it says I am a Hippy Sheep... =)

.... OOppss the last post was Sept6 ... Well Sept disappeared into our holiday in Canada and the States... Then most of October disappeared into catching up !! The holiday was BRILLIENT ! Managed to meet up with a number of frineds, stay with a couple and see LOADS ! We are saving up for the next trip ....

Went to the Ally Pally Knit & Stitch show. Good day out with C and ladies from my Embroiderers Guild. Meet with Z and her Mum, My mum and big sis too !
Did not spend that much as had Guild money to spend. As their treasurer had the debit card to use =)

Finally told Aion that I would be stepping down as Exchange organisor. Generally my board useage is dropping and often I only open Aion , TWBB or UK Stitchers to check on exchanges. I enjoy the GTG and stitching with friends more ... Find it really hard to keep up with all the long messages and the rate at which stuff happens.

Good News
***********
Our friends from NY state are going to be over here next summer for a holiday =)

I have been asked to do some model stitching and have started the first piece =) Its coming along well.

Back to the City and Guild work. Current module is on Elizabethian costume. I have selected bodices and corsets to concentrate on. Had Friday off this week and spent time building some experimental fabric samples .... Was going real well with some freeform knitted samples until the wool needle broke ! Will need to get a new one ! Each Monday I have an e-mail exchange with my Canadian friend where we both write down our aims for the week, then encourage each other to keep it going.
