Stitch Show in London
Joined the gang at Olympia for the Stitch show ! My sister and Aunt were there too. Had a great time shopping ... see the evidence below !

Went a bit mad , if fact more mad that I thought I would considering how small the show was. We found the distance between the stalls was TOO small, so it was horrid trying to get round the place, the exits from floors were not marked and there was just not a great selection of stands for stitching.

Bought lots of chifon fabric , charts, a couple of kits and a couple button bags. The bags of buttons are great. Kept the shops web address, as I can see lots of buttons appearing in my C&G work. Even have a new fabric art doll in mind !

In the morning joined C to take one of the offered goldwork classes. We were taught by a lady from the Royal School of Needlework. The pattern is a mushroom. Well this is about as far as we reached, but were shown everything to finish it off... More pictures to come when I get there !

A weekend of finishes !

Finished the first of the bathroom 'month' towels. This is June. It is a little different from the pattern. I removed Flag Day and Schools out ... replacing with the Sun and words "Bursting out all over " ... Nearly finished May , then will need to buy some more cream towels for the other months.

Saturday - joined a day school with my local embroiderers guild. The tutor Lesley George taught us about creating yummy textured fabric with scraps of fabric and textured threads/wools. This is the shape of the scissor bag she was showing us. I managed to reach the point of creating the bag in the class , but the handle and lace on the top I worked on Sunday. The lace is created using the machine and water soluable sheet. Not so easy to see in this photo but I managed to work a Bee into the lid too !

Had a good shopping day on Sunday ... Went to B&Q with DH and found a lamp system which will be just perfect for my City and Guild project. Works a treat =)
So now just need to get DH to help me take a portfolio of photos so I can post off my module !!

City & Guild Final Piece

Life has been mega busy at work... Not been home before 8:30 most of the week. So throught I should use a quieter weekend to finish my final piece for C&G.

The staves are from our smoke bush which had split over the winter, thus we had to give it a hair cut ! Love the shapes the ends had grown into !

The body has been created with layers of fabric and I have started to create machine lace leaves. Making them in small groups so can get some different colour ways. The first two are very green ... need to move towards reddish brown !!

Quiet weekend...

At least this weekend there were no close encounters with the staircase. My bruises from last weekend are a good colour DH tells me =(

=) Finished the Xmas ornie RR for this month. Lovely Santa with birds. Well ahead of time so I can post it promptly to New Zealand this time. The red on the coat I thought would NEVER end. Kited up my first hand towel ready to start creating a set for the bathroom. Using a chart called "Hand towel thu the year" ... I will be changing a few of the charts as we go along so that they match the UK dates. e.g. Mother's Day is March here.

DH and I headed off to the Farmers Market on Sunday... Very busy for all stalls. Thought there might be less people heading for the poultry.

Sunday was a bad day ... I fell down the stairs from about the middle.
Was going down and somehow missed one of the steps. Landed in a bundle at the bottom with DH running out his room to see what was up ! Well nothing broken , some large purple bruses on my back... and I guess there should be one under my hair as the head took quite a bounce too !
