Knitting up a Storm

Its been a busy week. My company merged with another large company. Thursday was the first day. In the evening was the offical start and a small party was arranged for all staff.

During the week recieved this stunning ATC from Pam. This is part of a shape lottery ATC exchange organised within a textile group I belong to.
As you can see the shape was a keyhole .... The photo does not give you a real impression of the texture.

Also during this week started to look at jumpers again due to my sister who pointed out that the Colinette had revamped their web site. http://www.colinette.co.uk/

I ended up buying the wool and needles to knit a jumper for me ..=)
It was so quick. The package was with me by Thursday. So due to the party I did not start until Friday.

The wool arrives in hanks so they have to rolled into balls first. But so far I have already knitted the back.
OK - for those who understand these things. Its knitted in size 10 pins. I am using wooden ones which I perfer. I knit on LONG pins as I have to have the right hand one tucked under my arm. Already start the front.

Other good news, the first shots from my potatoes have appeared today =) Will not be long now before I have to start soiling them up.

Catch up and Doodles !

Looking back at the last few weeks I had not posted a picture of the Garden Sampler after part3 had come out. So here it is with beads added too. There should be 12 parts so I am wondering where this will go next !???

My friend L, sent me this fabric postcard for Twosday !
THANK YOU ..... Just wanted to share with everyone =)

This week I have been taking a break from the Master class doors to work on an ATC for an exchange. I was given the shape of a heart. Errmm ... then started to think about the doodles I create in most of the meetings I attend. My work note books are covered in them.

These are just two examples. There is no plan to the doodle and they grow often based on the amount of words I am writing ! Those who don't know me often think this shows that I am not listern .....WRONG ! As they will often find out.

Well I took the same idea and turn it into fabric art. Using varigated threads from GAST the shapes started to form. Adding buttons was fun and I have started to draw button in my work doodles too.

Although the coloured one was getting there I wanted to create a single colour version as at work I tend to only have one colour pen with me.
These have now become two ATC , one of which will be posted, just not sure which as yet !

Mean while I have enjoyed this so much, started a slightly larger version. The outline is about postcard size. As you can see I draw in a few element stitch them then draw the next ones. Some of the lines with running stitch and french knots are not planned with the pen.

So dear reader, what do you think ??? Should I carry on with this ?? Monocrome or multi-coloured ??

Walking in a Winter Wonderland

Yes, I know another two week gap. Last weekend we were out booth days, but more of that later. First the news ..... ITS SNOWING ! Really strange as Friday I had walked from the shops wondering if I really wanted my coat on ! Below are a few photos from round the house.

So what happend last weekend??
Well Saturday I attended a day school ran by my local sewing group ~ Liss in Stitches. The tutor Denise Jones was taking us though white work stitches. Below is my finished piece of work. I had to put in about another day and a half of time to get to this stage. If you go to the club blog/web site there are lots of photos from the day. Sunday joined DH for a day at Ally Pally at a train show. Good day out, not so busy in Ally Pally compared when we attend in Oct for the stitching show.

The rest of the week I have been mostly working on the doors for my Master Class final piece. I did have time to complete another L*K design.
