Weekend Away !

Went away with C for a girly weekend in Bakewell. Below are a few pictures from the area.

We had a wonderful and relaxing weekend. Started Friday lunch time with the train ride to Chesterfield, meeting C there for the final drive the Bakewell. Landlady gave us some pointers for good pubs to eat at ... =) Fell on our feet as the B&B was one side of the bridge you can see above and as you can see the high street started the other side. Not that you can see them but the river was full of duck, geese and some swans !

Saturday morning rose to have a walk round the village/town. Found Wye Needlecraft but did not go for a good shopping trip as a few friends had said they would join us for lunch then to Wye for shopping. Looked roudn the rest of the town.

Found and looked round the Quilting store. As we were both picking up Bakewell Puds for friends and DHs... bought those and took them back to the B&B. On the way back passed the Charity shop, in the window was a dress which was quite Marilyn - the white number which blows up .... Popped in as C needed a 50's fancy dress .. Just perfect this was her size =)

After dropping off the pies and dress , headed back into the town to meet our friends. In the end there was 10 of us for lunch.... a little show and tell before lunch then on mass shopping at Wye. Bought a few bits and pieces =)

Train home on Sunday was not so great... the train had a football supporters club traveling to London - not sure which game they were going to see - but they stepped on the train with bags containing beer .... Did not make for a quiet time. Arrived home to find the electricity had been off all day =( ..... I stocked up the fire and DH ,who was out at a train fair all weekend, bought home tea so no cooking required !

I did get quite a bit of stitching completed on the TW book mark I am working on. I am down to the backstitch and lazyy daisies. A photo soon !

Glad you had a nice time Zoe. Too bad about the power outage though!
