A busy Weekend

Spent most of the weekend working on the sketch books and research essay for Module 5 of my City and Guild course. Below are a few images of the layout in the picture research for the essay. It has taken a while. Although the books are not now ready to be sent off, I have typed up the additional words for the sketch books to put neat typed labelson things. These I will print off during the week. I also worked out where I need to add more words to the research folder. Left myself hand written notes(you'll see one in the 2nd picture below under the collar). Over the next week I will use my lunch periods to get the typing done.

Before I print off the final version of the essay, I want to finish reading "The Studio of Frances & Margaret MacDonald".... In case I find more interesting facts. I have a few more I want to add about Jessie Newbery.

I did try placing all the books into the shipping bag supplied. BUT as you can see in the picture below I have two bags. The books just fit into the grey shipping bag and the finished items are in the blue bag. So now I even need to send as two parcels OR find a box for the lot !!

I did have time to work on my first cross stitch finish for 2007.
This is Poof Hat by Ursula Michael of Imaginating Inc.

I have stitched on a piece of Silk Weaver sparkle fabric 28ct which has been dyed with a motled pink and purple colour mixture. I plan to turn this into a cushion for my sewing room. The spider is beaded.

The chart was a gift from my friend C who lives in NY state.

The rest of the weekend has been taken up with house hold tasks, like getting the washing done, taking the Yule decs down, runs to the post office and library and a little shopping. The main part of the shop was for art materials for a weekend course at the end of this month and buying three more metres of calico. I seem to go through ALOT of this.

No art dolls this weekend to add to the bridal party. Once Module 5 has gone off, then will have more time to work on them. The module will be shipped with out the lily and frog wall hanging. I checked the text on the module which only required you to design the piece. I will be leaving the tutor a note to say that the hanging will be made, once I can find more of the green fabric.

My sister has annouced the date for her 50th birthday party (pls note she is a number of years older than me) ... so also starting to put some thought together for a gift. I did ask if there was anything she would like... Make me something, anything! So that narrows it down. Well I have until June to become creative.
