Bed Knobs and Broomstitcks
Our new bed arrived this weekend. This give you an idea of the style. It has these curled ends at all four corners. A four poster without the canopy... This is now driving the decoration for the rest of the room. Already seen some curtain fabric from the William Morris range which would work so well. Ermmm I see an Arts & Crafts style developing within all the rooms.

I did see a great piece of curtain fabric with designs from Margaret MacDonald (wife of Charles MacKintosh)... BUT it does not work in my studio as the lamp shades are already setting the style. Will keep looking.
Just joined a Fat ATC exchange and hubby cut up the wood for me this weekend. What is a Fat ATC ?? Well simply it is an ATC (Art Trading Card) but made from wood so you have a thickness. This also gives you four sides to cover. Mine will most likely have feet. I am into adding feet to 3D objects. Also next weekend my friend is coming over for a girly day which normally means making art together or going shopping. I have enough pieces of wood cut, so I guess we will do a Fat ATC together.

Also found time to use some of the materials I bought last weekend. This is a sampler based on numbers. I had seen a version where the numbers were painted as if too large for the boards. When I sat down to do my version it became altered and grunged !!

Although weekend was quite rainy did get sometime outside. Harvested half my lavender hedge. The heads are currently hanging up to dry out. I feel lavender bags for Yule gifts may be in order. Also we went to the West Dean Apple Fair. It was much smaller than we expected but we did find out that the apple tree in the front of the house which was loaded when we arrived is a Worchester Pearmain... =)

hello Zoƫ,
I love your bed ! I love your bed, ! i love your bed !
Did I tell you already that I LOVE YOUR BED !!!
I have an old IKEA bed where we sleep in since we are married ( 23 years ago) and I'm so in love with these metal beds for ages. I've seen one that I like but it costs 800 euro... so not for my pocket for the moment with three students in the house...
your wood for the ATC's look good : mine are fatter, but that's what we had in our shed...:)
Your sampler is this made on a canvas with small canvasses ? I tried to enlarge but it doesn't work. Wish I could see it a bit closer : also wondering what of your new stuff you used :)
greetings from belgium
Inge
