Beltane at Butser

Saturday Butser Ancient Farm held their annual Beltane evening. This always ends with the wicker man being burnt. This year he went up very quickly as it has been so very dry. The wicker man can be seen on a few videos on YouTube.

It was a lovely evening. Folk singers, belly dancers, mummer plays, morris men (well in fact most of them were ladies), folk rock band - Feckless, Bird displays, food counters and lots of activities for the kids. Shared the evening with good friends. We created our own head dresses then had face paint added once we arrived !

Beltane Blessings to Everyone !

hello Zoƫ,

I wish I could have been there !! I can imagine it's a very nice environment to be in : likeminded people, folkmusic,...

I'll come back to have a look at the wicker man burning !
greets
