WEEK END OF STITCHING

With all the Yuletide stitching completed I started on some of the other projects I have on hand.

Dug out all my green thread to work on a Rainbow Square. This is for the Embroiderers Guild.
The Rainbow Squares were devised 1n 1997 as a project which would appeal to all members. Branches are allocated a colour and members stitch 4in. squares, using any technique, but keeping predominately to the allocated colour. Squares are laced over card and joined into strips with a hanging loop. When displayed together, they form a rainbow of colour.

Liss Branch have been allocated a deep green colour. Created an organic form of french knots in lots of different thread types. As normal the photo is not great , but you get the feel.

As I had no fixed train projects which I felt like doing, I grabbed a kit. This is a Shepard Bush "A Rosey Garden" ... which was given to me as a seasonal sister gift. All stitched in silks, it have a delicate feel. The walking stick should have been only back stitch but I wiped it which gave a nice effect. I have used french knots for some of the smaller flowers.

The kit even had a matt in with it =)
Now I just need a frame. The piece is laced to a backing board.

Finally got the hand of lacing after taking a ribbon emberoidery course with Tanya Wood. Its one of those things which just click suddenly.

That rainbow square is gorgeous. It's one of those things, I don't know why I love it, but I do :) In the picture it actually looks a lot bigger than 4" square.

And as I've already said elsewhere, the other one is lovely too :)
