Busy Week of Finishes and New Starts !

Felt like a bit of a change this week by working few smaller projects.

The first will become a Yuletide ornie. This is one of six from a kit. My friend C sent it over from the States. It is the second one that I have done. I want to stitch them all before cutting the fabric up to do the finishing. The kit came with felt for finishing =)

Next I used a freebie from the Cross Stitcher Mag to create a card for my Niece S. She had invited us to her 21st Birthday bash, which we sadly can not make, thus I thought this made a great 'with regret' card. The mouse is from the Country Compagions range which she loves. The kit on the mag came with the mount , so I only had to find a card for it =) Hope she likes it !

And finally my New Start .... This is a sleeve to a jumper for DH which I started in 2004. I had become stuck on the sleeves, after first completing the back and front. The patternhad made nosense !?!?! Well last week my friend M offered to help out. Basically the pattern has been put to one side , so I am now only using it to give me the order of the strips !!!

So fingers crossed. Yesterday I pulled it down to the rib and have started again! So the above shows how much I had completed by this morning.

Not done much knitting today ... first had to pop into town to post a couple of packages , then spent the afternoon working on the final steps of my C&G module. SO CLOSE and I have run out of glue... Good news is that we will be going back to town tomorrow to go to the farmers market =)

Also started a scrap-book on pusscat ... Friend C had sent a kit from the states which had a small book, interesting papers, stickers etc etc for making a cat book =) I'll have to collect a few more photos now ...

***** DH bought me a special pressy this week *****

I had asked about getting an MP3 player for ages. The size means I could carry it on the train in my handbag + I could use it in my sewing room where I do not have room for a big unit.

Thus Tuesday - I found a purple box waiting for me ... A Purple Sony Walkman MP3 - 20Gb !!! So cool.

Now just need to wait for the stand alone speakers to come in so can use this in my room. The speakers were a bargain as Argos had them in the catalogue for £29.99 instead of £99... When DH went to pick them up - the store realised this was a mistake, but have agreed to to still sell one set to DH for the lower price ... =)
