Well I have finally finished the Owl cloth I had been working on for ages ! Did get a little worried that it would not all join up , but no problems at all !!!

It is to become my MIL's yuletide gift. Yes I am safe telling you this as MIL has no computer access.
Wednesday - the first parcel for the UFO RR arrived. This is a RR where you post round a design which has been in your UFO pile for a while and everyone does a bit more for you. This one is a TW wool cross kit. Forgotten what a mess the wool gets in the kits. Also I think I may end up going a little slower on this one... Not sure I can/should use a hoop - so I am working in hand and trying so hard not to mangle the canvas by holding it all screwed up. I know the wool cross I have in my UFO pile the canvas is all curled up where I have folded or scrunched it up to get to the right area. Anyway I have started to stitch on the border. I like the repeating pattern which means I do not have to keep looking at the pattern/chart.
Also the Halloween Orine RR arrived this week. So looking forward to stitching that soon too !
These stunning flowers arrived on Monday. They are from my parents to thank DH &I for our work to get Dad's 80th birthday party sorted out. They sent flowers to all the familly who helped out. The party went well on the day, thank goodness for the good weather so that we could have some of the guests outside, else I think Mum's house would have been bursting at the sides. There was amusing mix up on which time everyone was turning up - so Dad got back to the house at 3:45 and the guests arrived at 4:15 ... not so much a surprise but I think in the end he liked the constant drizzle of people whom he could greet and chat with.
My niece arrived with her new baby ... what a cutie and such a good boy. He was happy being passed round the Great Aunts and given lots of cuddles. My Aunt was miffed a little to work out she was now a Great Great Aunt ... said it made her feel old ! =)
The familly clubed together an bought Dad a TV. He was so pleased, as he was planning to buy one soon - infact he was planning to get the one we bought ... now I wonder which little birdy told us which to buy =)
Tomorrow is going to busy sort of day. The community centre in my home village are holding a "leisure showcase" , which the Embroiderers Guild Branch have been given a table at... This is my event to run. I just managed to talk a few ladies to help me - so we will have a display of work and we are all going to be taking stitching with us to try and attract new members , or at least get visitors to come and see what we are going.
The whole week at work has been manic as we had an update to a major system sort of spung on us. So I have been writting reports to track how things are going and giving training sessions. The engineers are not happy as technical have ended up being given more work to do in the process which does not benefit us or improve things for us ... It is real hard to defend or put a positive spin when you totally agree that the deptment has been dumped upon.
At least today I get to work from home still. Will be finishing around 3 - 4 pm - as need to get to the library to pick up some ordered books... The event tomorrow stops me getting to the library !!! More books on Arts and Crafts for my C&G work !
