Bank Holiday Weekend - C&G work part2

To dye or not to dye ! All my tied samples of calico plus a control piece were collected up and taken down to the kichen for a dye bath.

I used powdered dye I already had and selected a blue to head towards indigo although as you'll see it did not quite come out deep enough... Four spoons of dye next time . Remember if your using dyes rubber gloves are a must.

Pieces of fabric bob about in the bucket .
All dyed and waiting to be dry ...
The control piece
Traditional tye dye where areas were tied with elestic bands - below after drying and an iron.
Stitching small circles and pulling up tight

Original fabric folded in three then machine stitched. This one I stitched a wave, which you can see. Once open found this amazing landscape image hidden inside. To see all the pictures from today including more of the machine samples which gave landscapes follow the link below.

Waves to Vicky - Have fun with the rubbing plates. I looking to use them with coloured fabrics and creating backgrounds for altered books or ATCs ! Don't forget to post pictures of your work too =)
