Backgrounds for C&G

Well before I show you the backgrounds work a THANK YOU to Leanne who swapped ATCs with me. Yesterday I recieved the ATC below in the post =)

During the week a 'hand' embellisher arrived in the post ... WOW ! Making felt while watch TV while making sure the cat did not get too close to the needles. This is my first try. The tool arrived in a kit which had felt and fibres ... Here I cut a small piece of the supplied purple felt and added small pieces of the fibres slowly building a sort of shape !

Next tried creating the inital base from some of the green fibres first before adding a few details. DH was fasinated with this. He was totally amazed that the green felted back ground had started as the loose fibres.

Also I finished knitting a piece to be machine felted. So here it is before washing. The design source is medieval floor tiles thus I have added some gold wool into the rows too ... Not sure how well this will felt as its the first time I have ever done this !! So watch this space !
AND finally, after spending the back holiday colour washing the sketch book I have started to create the Inuit country study. OK - so I have only done the first page but its a start =)
I hope to have time this weekend to start working on a few more pages too ! Might even get round to stitching the fur too !!

I am so looking forward to seeing what pieces you come up with studying the Inuit.
I used to work in the High Arctic in Canada here and I have been fascinated with their ART.
Working on a piece right now - Raven Brings Daylight which is an Inuit legend.
